There are more than 3000 various birds and small animals that call the World of Birds Wildlife Sanctuary in Hout Bay home, enjoying the tropical garden setting and familiar environment created for them. For lovers of nature, artists and photographers, this lovely sanctuary has become a popular destination to enjoy – the World of Birds Sanctuary is a premier tourist attraction in Cape Town and offers visitors amazing experiences, time and time again. With the majestic Table Mountain, Lions Head and the 12 Apostles overhead, natural beauty is on full display. Each year, this wildlife haven welcomes over 100 000 visitors through its front doors, season through season. Bird species include Geese, Falcons, Parrots, Swans, Storks, Flamingos and Eagles. Guests can also meet mammals along the way like baboons and monkeys or porcupines and squirrels. Some of the reptiles that are found here include terrapins, green iguana, tortoises and blue-tongued skinks. A small restaurant and a children’s play area are also available at World of Birds.
