Recently revamped, Under the Cypress will take you on an adventure of amazing and traditional Texas BBQ smokehouse meals. Slow cooked in wood-fires which make use of local woods and organic chips, there is no shortcuts here and the result is clear when you indulge in some of the amazing barbecued mains. The restaurant also embraces local brands and serves Tribe coffee's - a well known coffee brand in Cape Town that has earned its place on the top.
The Under The Cypress restaurant is housed in the Annex of an historic building that was previously known as the Majestic Hotel, which was designed in the early 19th century and was always considered a peaceful escape for locals and tourist alike. There is a comfortable indoor main dining area which features a fireplace and also a fantastic veranda area to enjoy when the days are warmer.
