Beginning its story in 1991, the Artvark Gallery was originally based in Joburg and was created to showcase handmade cutlery which was initiated by Theresa Jo. After moving to Cape Town in 1998 the Artvark Gallery redirected its focus and started welcoming new artists, and now displays a marvelous collection of classic and contemporary art, while also showcasing pieces that celebrate folk art. You can expect to find an interesting variation of jewellery, unique steel artwork, ceramics and textiles, as well as paintings and crafts as you peruse this exciting gallery. There is a sense of African Tradition, colourful expression and diverse style, with something for everyone to love. You will be entirely captivated when you visit, as Artvark remains a favourite among locals and constantly appeals to tourists and visitors in Kalk Bay.
