This amazing team of passionate Capetonians are ready to show tourists the best of Cape Town by embarking on a unique and insightful Township Tour. Cape Town Township Tours offers tourists from all over the world and even locals born and bred in Cape Town with the opportunity to see Cape Town in a different way. The team at Cape Township Cycle will pick you up at your hotel in the area with their state-of-the-art shuttle bus, and from there all participants in the adventures of the day will make their way around the stunning Cape Peninsula. Those taking part can expect to see gorgeous beaches (keep an eye out for Whales and Dolphins from July to November), deserted coves, beautiful mountains and rich plant life. Chapman’s Peak drive, arguably the most stunning drive in our country, will also form part of the shuttle ride.

The tour is really fantastic as it puts money back into the community, being both socially and environmentally friendly. Guests can enjoy this tour in the morning or afternoon. The cycle tour really begins at Masiphumelele, a township or “shanty town” that is home to over 50,000 inhabitants, living in poor conditions and largely unemployed. These people are proud of their customs and work hard to better their lives and these locals and friendly and welcoming to those on the tour. After collecting bicycles at the Bicycle Empowerment Centre in the community, a local guide will tour this village with the day’s tourists following and discovering many new things about South African Tradition and culture. Observe local dancing and singing, meet the cute children at the local pre-school and enter the house of an actual Sangoma (traditional African healer) and even enjoy some super tasty authentic African cuisine at a local restaurant and bar.
