This wine vineyard is located on the sunny slope of Cradock Peak, at a higher altitude than most vineyards in the country and enjoys frequent mountain mists and icy frosts and snows with occasional refreshing winds from the nearby Indian Ocean – a setting that allows for a protracted growing season. A wonderful option to enjoy a day outing in the Garden Route with friends who celebrate the finer things in life and love wine, guests can enjoy wine-tasting in an unpretentious seting among tanks and barrels near the working cellar where winemakers go about their routines in full view of visiting onlookers. The friendly owners of Herold Wines are usually on hand and often join visitors to share their stories and engage. There are also light lunches and teas available, with lovely picnic facilities also on offer.
