Oudtshoorn is known as the ‘Ostrich Capital’ of the country and has a rich history with trading ostrich feathers centuries ago. The Safari Ostrich Farm is a working farm that offers guests the opportunity to enjoy educational tours and to view these wonderful birds up close. Learn more about Ostrich Farming and all the stages of their lives – from incubation (see the adorable chick’s hatch in the incubation room) to adulthood. Kids love feeding the ostriches and a tractor tour will introduce various ostrich species like the Kenyan Red, Zimbabwe Blue, the local South Africa ostriches and also the magnificent and rarely found White Ostrich, the most beautiful of all.
