Central Beach

One of the most beautiful beaches of the Garden Route, Plettenberg's popular Central Beach is a long stretch of a white sandy shore met by the dazzling blue Indian Ocean Waters. Families and friends enjoy hours of fun at Central Beach, whether simply exploring and admiring the views or swimming in the ocean water and taking part in an array of water-based activities which are appealing to both tourists and locals. From Central Beach jet skiing, kayaking and ocean sailing are exciting adventures while this beach is also a launching site for marine safaris and dive charters. Often bustling with families, couples and people from all walks of life, summer sunshine and warm water make for a fun day outing to this beach, however dolphin and whale watching are popular in the colder winter months. Central Beach is close to a number of beach front restaurants and bars, while facilities of the beach include public toilets and the local Sea Rescue Station. Pansy shells are stunning flat white disk shapes shells with a flower print indented inside - these rare shells can only be found at Plettenberg's beaches and are truly something special.
