Glentana is one of the well know “blink and you’ll miss it” seaside villages that are less famed but equally enchanting when it comes to welcoming holiday goers from oversees or even from South Africa. Glentana can be found while exploring the Garden Route of the Western Cape, which has become an incredibly popular holiday destination over the past decade or so. This small and pleasant seaside village lies just east of the Great Bak River and is situated between Mossel Bay and George in the Garden Route. Many believe that the name “Glentana Bay” has a strong connection to Glentana whiskey, which is still brewed in Northern Scotland to this day and often enjoyed in South Africa.
Since the early 1900’s, Glentana Bay has changed very little and still manages to remain largely unspoilt and uncrowded – perfect for a relaxing and intimate getaway with loved ones. As with many small towns in the Garden Route, Glentana Bay is very beautiful, with its stretch of golden shores, views over the bright blue Indian Ocean and abundance of Milkwood trees, creating picture perfect landscapes. Accommodation in Glentana Bay can appeal to the discerning traveller from any part of the world, at any time of the year. Fishermen can often be seen fishing in the early hours of the morning or evening, while discovering more of the Garden Route is easy from this peaceful coastal village.
