Umdloti is a small and charming town at the mouth of the Mdloti River, between Umhlanga and Ballito and is a coastal conservancy, with surrounding fields of sugar cane and indigenous forests.
Three beautiful beaches are available in Umdloti, namely Newsel Beach, Selection Beach as well as Umdloti Beach. Attractions at these beaches include natural tidal pools, snorkelling, surfing, diving, kiteboarding, as well as surf and rock fishing, though please note licences are required because of the area's conservancy status.
Additional attractions available here consist of microlight flights, horse riding, bird watching, parasailing, guided quad trails and tours to the Natal Sharks Board. Umdloti is a prime spot for various wildlife sightings, including whales, dolphins and innumerable bird species.
