Considering it's stunning location in the Western Cape’s exciting Cape Winelands region, Dieu Donne is as spectacular as “A Gift from God”, overlooking the spectacular Simonsberg Mountains and some of Franschhoek’s most famous landmarks. Guests have fallen in love with this wine farms scenic displays of golden sunsets, while sipping on wine that is distinctive in character and flawless in taste. Facing the slopes of the Franschhoek Mountains from its setting on the steep south-west, the Dieu Donne Vineyards enjoys a cooling effect and ideal summer conditions (together with unique soils and weathered granite) that ensures the excellent ripening of their grapes.
Some remarkable blends of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay have been produced right here, allowing wine lovers to fall deeply down the rabbit hole of wine sipping and sunshine. The deep red and ravishing Merlot has become Dieu Donne’s flagship wine of the cellar. The story of Dieu Donne begun in 1987, when these vineyards were first acquired by the French-Maritian, Robert Maingard, through his love for South Africa and intention to create some amazing wines. With the idyllic setting in Franschhoek’s wine valleys allowing Dieu Donne wines to propel forward with their gorgeous flavours and special characteristics, this wine farm has become popular among tourists and locals alike. Visitors can enjoy wine tastings, or treat themselves to a meal at their ROCA Restaurant, serving delicious foods in a beautiful setting with indoor and outdoor seating available to guests and a fabulous selection of cuisines and wines. ROCA’s menu is one of Mediterranean bliss, where local ingredients and produce are elevated. Open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 am to 5 pm.
