The two Silwood Cottages are centrally located in a historic, Victorian part of Rondebosch known as the Golden Mile. The area is quiet and full of trees and birds.
They are independent of each other and are often rented out separately, but can also be rented jointly – for example to a large family party. The cottages communicate via a cool, leafy and quiet courtyard. Both are newly renovated. The cottages have quality fittings and furniture and guests will sleep only in Egyptian cotton sheets with a cotton blanket in the summer, or a goose down duvet in the winter. Both cottages have beautiful private courtyards and a barbecue apparatus is available on request during the summer months.
The cottages are close to the University of Cape Town (the bus is a seven-minute walk away), Kirstenbosch botanical gardens, the V and A Waterfront, Cape Town International convention centre, the Red Cross hospital, Cavendish shopping mall, Bishop’s school, the Baxter theatre, the Newlands cricket and rugby stadiums and just a 20-minute drive from the airport. Beaches on both the Atlantic and Indian Oceans are a 20-minute drive away.
