The holiday resort town of Margate lies on the Hibiscus Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. This is the heart of the Hibiscus Coast and the region’s beauty is obvious from the moment you take the N2 south of Durban and into a sub-tropical paradise of golden beaches, coastal forests and endless sunny days. Popular with holidaymakers, the town can also be reached by flying in and landing at Margate Airport, the second largest runway in KwaZulu-Natal. The resort town is located about 160 km south of Durban.

In season, Margate is a buzz of activity! Besides the attraction of the beach and the ocean, the beachfront promenade offers restaurants, cinemas, an amusement park and nightclubs. During the summer holidays, there are always beach activities on offer. It is the ideal base to explore the surplus of holiday opportunities offered by this sunny stretch of coastline. The town acts as the economic centre for a strip of coastline almost completely made up of accommodation, holiday homes and tourist-related establishments.

Number 5 Ocean Echo is a little gem. It is situated in a small, secure face brick complex on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, in Ballance Lane, Directly off Marine Drive in Margate. Although the unit is set back from the front of the complex, your sea views are still good. There is one lock-up garage and an open-bay parking for your use. There is a comfortable open-plan lounge and kitchen.

The lounge is equipped with a TV, DVD player and DSTV decoder. You will need to bring your own DSTV card. There is a lovely verandah leading off the lounge. Comfortable verandah furniture and a portable braai are provided for guest use. All bedding and bath towels are provided for you but guests are asked to provide their own beach towels. This unit is not serviced daily, but servicing can be arranged for you at an extra cost per day. This secure unit is fully burglar guarded.

The main Margate Beach, which has Blue Flag status is a short walk away and to the right of Ocean Echo there is a tidal pool and delightful secluded bay for swimming. The complex is centrally located and has easy access to shops, supermarkets, banks, medical facilities, restaurants etc. The beach is about 75 m away and there’s excellent fishing close by. It is also close to several outstanding golf courses in the area!

Margate boasts some of the most beautiful and immaculate beaches. For those who would prefer a little shopping, Margate boasts fine art galleries, craft shops and numerous shopping centres.

Important Information

- A non-refundable Admin Fee is charged per unit on each and every reservation
- A refundable Breakages Deposit charged and will be refunded into your bank account within 10 days of receiving the breakage deposit form; if there are no losses or breakages.
- Dishes service at an additional charge per day.
- Daily service additionally charged per service.
- Strictly No Rental of accommodation to persons under 21 unless accompanied by two adults.
- No extra guests allowed over and above the number of beds in the apartment. - If extra guests are found in the units, eviction will take place.
- No smoking allowed inside units.
- The volume of music and noise is to be kept to a reasonable level at all times. No parties allowed
- If a disturbance is caused that leads to guests and permanent tenants complaining, the Lessee may be evicted and will forfeit the rental paid.
- Time of arrival strictly 1pm. Time of departure strictly 10am 

Cancellation Policy

- Refunds payable are at the sole discretion of the managing agent.
- All returns / refunds will be looked into and the cardholder to make contact with managing agent
- A no show is the non arrival of a guest without notification in writing by fax or email to managing agent
- In the event of a cancellation, your deposit will only be refunded if another reservation is made by other guests for the same period.
