Lekkerwijn is an historic Cape Dutch Homestead near Franschhoek with a new bedroom wing designed by Sir Herbert Baker in 1908. It was the home of Harry Pickstone, one of the founders of the Cape Fruit Industry and full of his collection of Cape Antiques. It is still owned by the Pickstone family and Harry’s great grandson, Simon Pickstone-Taylor and his family still live here.
Lekkerwijn offers a unique experience of staying in an historic family home with warm traditional Cape hospitality and a tour of the house. Accommodation comprises 6 Bed and Breakfast units. There are 3 lounges and plenty of private spaces for guests, including a court yard sheltered from wind and sun. Lekkerwijn has a pool and extensive gardens and park lands where guests can walk, relax and unwind. A driver is available on site to take guests to local restaurants, wineries, functions and for airport transfers.
Lekkerwijn is in the heart of the wine country, right next door Boschendal, Allée Bleue and Solms Delta wineries, all of which have great restaurants, coffee shops, picnics and wine tasting.
Lekkerwijn welcomes families with children (some guest houses do not allow kids under 12 years). There is a play room, a special children’s room with bunks and a trained nanny to do child care, allowing parents to go out to restaurants with kids safely taken care of. Lekkerwijn also has Transkei Miniature pigs, dwarf goats, rabbits and numerous other animals to keep kids (and adults) entertained.

Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations made within one month of the date of arrival will be charged 50% of the full amount owed.
- No shows and cancellations within 7 days of the date of arrival will be charged the full amount owed.
- All bookings costs such as banking fees etc will be deducted from all refunds.
