Chelaya Country Lodge is situated is Somerset West and offers self catering accommodation in 5 well appointed cottages. Guests can relax in the various common areas and make use of all the facilities Chelaya has to offer.
The Kaya is a comfortable common area in a wooden shed situated between the main house and the cottages where guests can enjoy comfortable sofas, a log fire in winter, WiFi and tea/coffee making facilities. This is also where the guest laundry is situated with a washing machine and ironing facilities. On warmer days guests can enjoy the shaded outdoor area.
The Boma and Pizza Den – function venue, is new to Chelaya and is a massive walled Boma area - the original farm dam, under the pine trees with central fireplace; three additional braai/barbeque places and serving area. Fabulous both day and night with views across the estate to False Bay and the Hottentots Holland Mountains in the distance. Right next door is a smaller, enclosed area with a pizza oven for guests use. There is also a small kitchen offering simple necessities. The Boma and Pizza Den offer a really vibey, indoor/outdoor venue for small informal functions.
As Chelaya has become more and more popular, a second swimming pool has been added. The first pool is in the front garden of the Homestead and the second, which is made from a large container cut lengthways in half, is on the other side. Both enjoy great views and fabulous sundecks with loungers.
Unusual to most self-catering establishments, Chelaya leads the way with an extremely hard working and friendly staff compliment. The lovely ladies service the rooms/cottages daily with the exception of weekends and Public Holidays and change the linen and towels on a regular basis. The grounds staff take pride in the work done and are ever willing to assist with bringing guests more braai wood etc.
Chelaya has an excellent relationship with Comet Car Hire and will be happy to arrange any car hire requirements guests may have.

The Garden Cottage is set away from the main manor house, and is spacious and comfortable. It has a double room with a double bed, a bathroom with a slipper bath and a cot downstairs.
Upstairs is a single room with two single beds with a view over False Bay. Has a well equipped kitchen and a small lounge, DSTV, an outside covered braai/BBQ area, and access to the swimming Pool - caution small children: direct access to open water.

Sunset Cottage

The Sunset Cottage is a spacious self-catering unit with an open-plan TV lounge with DSTV and dining area with an air-conditioner and cozy fireplace that opens onto a private deck.
Three bedrooms, two rooms with queen size beds and one room with 2 double bunks, can sleep up to 8 people. One full bathroom and another with a shower and toilet.
Fully equipped kitchen, a veranda with braai/BBQ, access to the swimming pool and an enclosed garden. Good value with wonderful views over a dam.

Squirrel's Nest is the largest of all Chelaya's cottages. It comprises 4 bedrooms, 2 double, 1 twin and one with a double bunk, There is a full shared bathroom and a separate toilet.
The cottage features a very big lounge/dining space that leads onto the adequate kitchen with a washing machine. This cottage is perfect for young families as it is enclosed and therefore no unauthorized access to the open water dams and swimming pools.
There is also a small private enclosed outdoor braai/BBQ area for guests to use.

- To secure a booking during the festive season the full amount needs to be paid at time of booking confirmation.
Cancellation Policy
A payable cancellation fee on any booking plus:
- Cancellation more than 60 days - 10 % of the total amount is forfeited.
- Cancellation 60 to 40 days - 30 % of the total amount is forfeited.
- Cancellation 39 to 30 days - 50 % of the total amount is forfeited.
- Cancellation 29 to 0 days - 100 % of the total amount is forfeited.
