Antbear Drakensberg Lodge offers various Drakensberg accommodation options in mountain view suites, garden view suites, family units and also boasts a luxury cave too.
The lodge is perfectly located to explore the very best of what the Drakensberg offers. Situated in the middle of nowhere, between Estcourt, Mooi River and Giants Castle. The location has easy access to Kamberg, Monks Cowl and the Kwazulu-Natal Midlands.
The lodge is artistic in style and offers two lounges, a wine cellar, a small bar and restaurant with a dining room. On offer, is the option of hosted dining at a communal table or if guests prefer to sit at their own table.
Each of the accommodation units are different and are decorated with uniquely eccentric and artistic wooden furniture. All the rooms are comfortable and have standard features such as fireplaces, hairdryers, tea and coffee trays, a complimentary carafe of cherry and a mini fridge.
Accommodation includes breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is served with freshly baked bread and scones, along with homemade yogurt. Free range eggs are used from the chickens.
Antbear Lodge is one of the few pet friendly accommodation spots in Drakensberg.
There is plenty to do in the area besides hiking and horse riding on the farm. Guests can also enjoy walks in the Drakensberg Mountains, visit the Bushman paintings, go on horse trails through a private game reserve, canoe trips, canopy tours and the Midlands Meander.

Garden View Suite

There are 7 Garden View Suites available that each feature a spacious bedroom with a queen or king size bed, a lounge area and an en-suite bathroom.
Room 11, can accommodate an extra single bed. Room 3 has a small loft with two single beds for children.
Some units even have Jacuzzi spa baths and separate showers, while others just have a shower.
The rooms include a wood burning fireplace. Each unit features an individual covered patio that looks out onto a private garden.

Luxury Cave

Glass doors open onto a deck with an uninterrupted panoramic view of more than 180 degrees from Giants Castle right through to the Amphitheater and including the rolling foothills of the Bushman’s River Valley.
Not surprisingly bushman paintings are on the walls, as well as a rocked in Jacuzzi bath, a king size bed and an open fireplace which make for an upmarket Eco-experience.
Hammock chairs on the deck are a perfect location for a sun downer while guests watch the sunset. The furnishings are hand made and much has taken influence from the acacia trees in the view with windows that follow the shapes of the trees.

Mountain View Suite

The Mountain View Suites are mountain facing and are the more generous accommodation options offered at Antbear Lodge.
There are 6 of these suites all of which include a spacious lounge, a large bedroom with a king size bed and an en-suite bathroom. The bathroom includes a Jacuzzi spa bath and a separate shower.
Room 1 has an upstairs loft which can accommodate an extra person. Room 2 has an upstairs loft with 3 single beds.
The Mountain view suites also offer a veranda to relax and all the units include a wood burning fireplace.
