For those of you that don’t already know (as if there was any possible way that you could have missed the news), the international pop sensation Justin Bieber will be making his way back to Cape Town in May this year for his highly anticipated Purpose World Tour, where he will serenade and inspire us with his many popular and award winning hits that have been known to send teenager girls into a frenzied state.
Justin Bieber was born in Canada and the story of his claim to fame has inspired many singers and songwriters worldwide to keep on pursuing their musical talents. Justin came from humble beginnings, and was discovered by posting videos of himself singing covers of songs on You-tube in 2008. After being signed on with RMBG, his rise to fame was quick and unrelenting. His first album ‘My World’ was an instant success, and had an impressive 7 songs make it to the Billboard Top 100, a record for a debut album. His new studio album “Purpose” was released in November 2015 and has sold a whopping 3.1 million copies across the globe to date.
The last time we were visited by this international singing sensation and Casanova of sorts was in 2013, when the then 19 year old pop star came to South Africa for the very first time on his Believe World Tour. His performance that night left many a young girl’s heart fluttering wildly and attracted large and energetic crowds, with sold out tickets to over 65 000 fans. Justin’s fans are also known as “Beliebers”, and comprise mainly of teenage girls, although his latest albums have been appealing to larger audiences, of all age groups.
More good news is that there are still a few tickets available to enjoy this year’s upcoming live performance by Justin Bieber, (but there probably won’t be for long). The Official Purpose World Tour took off on the 9th of March 2015 in Seattle, and will finish on the 30th September 2017 in Canada. Some of the popular songs that fans can hope to hear are “Boyfriend”, “Love Yourself” and “Sorry”. Justin is also said to be a fantastic performer, with effortless style and a posy of talented and funky dancers to complete the stage setup and keep the audience entranced.
