This winter, visitors to and locals of Cape Town and surrounding areas can look forward to laughing till they fall out of their seats at the Jive Cape Town Funny Festival at the Baxter Theatre in Rondebosch. If last year’s festival is anything to go by, audiences can look forward to thoroughly entertaining evenings. 2014’s Funny Festival featured an outstanding lineup that consisted of the best of South Africa’s comedy scene as well as from the international scene. Audiences were treated to the likes of Trevor Noah, Shaleen Surtie-Richards, Marc Lottering and Nik Rabinowitz. Comedic acts from abroad included German pickpocket legend Christian Lindemann, the comedic pianist from the UK, Kev Orkian and the multi-award winning Australian comedian, Felicity Ward. 2015’s Funny Festival boasts a stellar lineup that includes legends of the comedy scene both near and far and ensures a good chunk of the winter will have passed quickly before anyone actually notices. This comedy festival will take place from Monday, the 20th of July to Sunday, the 16th of August.
