Kirstenbosch New Year’s Eve Concert

This New Year’s Eve performance assembles two of South Africa’s most popular performing artists with Arno Carstens opening and Mango Groove providing the main act.

Mango Groove is a household name in many homes in the country of South Africa. With their first single going multi-platinum in 1989, the eclectic music that they contribute to the music scene in South Africa is firmly part of this nation’s history.

A rock legend in South Africa, Arno Carstens is known today as a solo artist but also as the front man of the band Springbok Nude Girls. With over 20 top ten singles and 5 South African Music Awards (SAMA), the singer-songwriter has shared stages with music legends including U2, REM and The Rolling Stones.

The event will be set in a picnic format, so be mindful to bring a blanket and picnic basket along.

New Year’s Eve Street Party at the Protea Fire and Ice Hotel in Cape Town

Unless you were out of town the end of 2013, or had decided to rent an apartment elsewhere other than in the CBD, you could not have missed this: last year the Protea Fire and Ice Hotel, CBD, hosted a high-class party for all party mad people in the Mother City in New Church Street. It was known as the Jameson NYE Fire & Ice Street Party. This party included a legion of legendary DJs to bring the right atmosphere to the evening, making sure everyone enjoyed themselves. Those that managed to secure an apartment or villa near to the Cape Town CBD at that time must have thought they had played their cards just right.

This year the Protea Fire and Ice Hotel intends to celebrate the arrival of the new year again with a party on a soon-to-be refurbished New Church Street.
