Josh Groban fans, are you ready? This famous singer, songwriter, actor and more, known for his enchanting sounds, will be coming to Cape Town this April! Debuting in 1997, the Los Angeles native has achieved  breathtaking success with his first four albums achieving multi-platinum status. Josh Groban broke out onto the international music scene when he appeared on the 4th season of the hit television show, Ally McBeal, performing a stunning rendition of his hit, You’re Still You during the season finale. Since then, he has released many successful albums with hits such as You Raise Me Up, You Are Loved and many more. In South Africa alone, he has been one of the most successful international artists over 10 years, selling over 750 000 albums. Josh Groban will appear at the Grand Arena in the GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World in Goodwood, a Cape Town suburb, on Tuesday, the 12th of April, and Wednesday, the 13th of April, at 20:00 on both evenings. These performances are the last part of his tour of South Africa, known as A Very Special Evening with Josh Groban, promoting his latest album, Stages. This album features songs from Sweeney Todd, The Fantasticks, The Wizard of Oz, Les Miserables, Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George, Andrew Lloyd Weber’s Phantom of the Opera, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Carousel, Into the Woods, A Chorus Line and many more. The tickets have been on sale since September. Just a heads up: Josh Groban’s last tour of South Africa, back in 2011, resulted in 5 sold out dates! You will definitely need to start booking your tickets even though the performances are under a month and a half away.

But remember, GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World offers more than just the Grand Arena. Besides the casino, the venue offers a wide array of establishments that cater to the entire family. Numerous restaurants, cafés, bars and fast food outlets are available throughout GrandWest. The whole family can enjoy a movie too, with a Nu Metro branch close to the Grand Arena. For the kids, there is the Ice Station, with an Olympic-size ice rink, Magic Arcade with numerous games, Magic Bowling with 12 colourfully illuminated lanes as well as a crèche. Finally, if you’re worried about spending too much time here, parking costs only R 10 no matter how long you stay!

For the tickets, they range between R 565 and R 1 130. They are available at all Computicket outlets, via the call centre at 0861 915 8000 (the tickets can be collected at an outlet after confirming booking over the phone, make sure to present your credit/debit card and I.D.) and via the Computicket website at http://online.computicket.com/web/event/a_very_special_evening_with_josh_groban/960170671/0/68123404/.  On the days of the performances, the Box Office at GrandWest Casino will open at 18:00 for ticket sales and collections. The doors to the Grand Arena will open at 19:00. One person can purchase a maximum of 20 tickets. The concerts will last 2 hours on both nights. Please note that children under the age of 3 are not allowed at this event, so it would be best to leave them at the crèche, which closes at 23:00.  Please note there are no discounts for children and babies and that they are not allowed on adults’ laps. Disabled persons can book their tickets by contacting the call centre. The price of a disabled person’s ticket is the standard price of R 565. Note that when booking, a wheelchair-bound audience member is entitled to bring a companion/assistant along, with an area set aside fo the disabled audience members and their companions/assistants. The companion/assistant will be issued a free ticket. Note that this arrangement is applicable to disabled persons and their companions/assistants only.
