You’d better get that beret ready and find clothes the colour of red, blue and white soon because come the middle of the year, food and wine lovers can once again indulge in the Franschhoek Bastille Festival! This annual event, taking place at the Franschhoek Huguenot Monument, situated in the town that is well established as the culinary capital of South Africa, will occur on Saturday, the 16th of July and Sunday, the 17th of July.
Everything will be happening at the Food and Wine Marquee, situated in front of the Franschhoek Huguenot Monument. Not only will visitors get to go on an adventure for the taste buds, they’ll get to take part in numerous festival activities, including boules, markets and so much more. A wacky caricature artist will be available to capture your Bastille experience. Visitors can also take part in the popular Porcupine Ridge Barrel Rolling Competition. The tickets
You can get a Saturday Pass or a Sunday Pass at R 220 per person and today, the 11th of May, the sale begins! And you’d better move fast because there is an Early Bird Special for the Sunday and tickets are limited. The cost of each ticket grants entry, a wine glass and 5 wine tasting coupons so that you can treat your taste buds to an exploration of what this famous food and wine capital has to offer.
