Come the last weekend of February, for the 7th time, the 2016 Constantia Fresh Wine Festival will take place at the Buitenverwachting Estate in Constantia. While the name does little to describe this event, it is an exciting food and wine festival offering some of the top wines of South Africa and gourmet food courtesy of some of the country’s world-class chefs! Visitors will get to explore this adventure for the taste buds while enjoying the entertainment provided by live music and the breathtaking views that the area of Constantia provides.

All this takes place on the luscious lawn of the Buitenverwachting Estate. Like most of the wine farms in Constantia, this estate is rich in history, dating back to 1773, but it was only in 1825, when Ryk Arnoldus Cloete planted 90 000 vines, that Buitenverwachting began its road to the successful wine estate it is today. Today is no different, with the estate enjoying high ratings, proving its position as one of the finest wine producers in the country. They are just one of the many wine estates whose products will be on show during the festival.
