About Cape Wheel

Families, friends and tourists wishing to glimpse the city from the best vantage point possible can be sure to experience just that with the fabulous Cape Wheel. A relatively new addition to the exciting scene of the V&A Waterfront and visible from a distance, the Cape Wheel is a giant observation ferris wheel that offers visitors spectacular 360 degree views of the beautiful city of Cape Town, with the majestic Table Mountain, distant Paarl Mountain ranges, the Cape Town Stadium, Robben Island and the outstretched Atlantic Ocean. The Cape Wheel journey above the lively V&A Waterfront precinct lasts about 15-20 minutes and reaches up to 40 metres above ground, in one of over 30 fully enclosed cabins. With safety being of the highest regard and the ultimate comforts afforded, families, friends or even couples on a romantic date are sure to experience a truly unforgettable time on the Cape Wheel. There are also two wheelchair friendly and accessible cabins. The Cape Wheel has become an iconic part of the Waterfront and offers endless photograph opportunities, as guests embark on a skyward adventure like no other. A portion of the proceeds made here are given to charity, so your money is going toward a good cause. This exciting tourist attraction has certainly earned its place on top of many visitors list’s of things-to-do while in Cape Town, for good reason. Open Monday to Thursday, from 12 pm to 9 pm, from Friday to Saturday from 10 am to 10 pm and on Sunday from 10 am to 9 pm. The closest parking at the V&A Waterfront is the Ulundi Garage.
